Wayne County Probate Court can only issue certified copies of Birth Certificates
Wayne County Probate Court only has Birth Certificates for people that were born in Georgia.
Who can Obtain a GA Birth Certificate?
Georgia Rules and Regulation 511-1-3-.33
- The registrant; or
- Either parent of the registrant listed on the certificate; or
- Registrant’s legal guadian; or
- Grandparent of the registrant; or
- Adult brother/sister of the registrant; or
- Adult child of the registrant; or
- Spouse of the registrant; or
- Their legal representative
The term relative as determined by the State Vital Records such as mother or father, spouse, adult sibling, grand parent or adult child, must also provide proper identification as determined by the State Vital Records office
The following forms of identification are accepted:
- Georgia Driver’s license unexpired or expired for not more than a year
- State of Georgia Identification Card unexpired or expired for not more than a one year
- State of Georgia Weapons Carry License
- Unexpired driver’s license issued by another U.S. State, jurisdiction or territory
- Unexpired U.S. passport
- Unexpired Foreign Passport
- U.S. Military Identification, Military Dependent Identification, Veteran’s Identification
- Unexpired Consulate Card
- Unexpired Transportation Worker Identificiation Credential (TWIC)
- Department of Corection Identification Card
- Employer picture ID Card
- School, University, or College Identification Card (unexpired with ID number and signature)
- DMV ID Card
Fees for copies of Certified Birth Certificate
First copy – $25.00
Additional copies issued at the same time – $5.00
We can not issue any uncertified copies of a vital record.
